Doctor Who Wednesdays #4

“People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it’s more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly…time-y wime-y…stuff.”

— 10th Doctor, Don’t Blink

Of all the shows, movies and books that have attempted to explain the nature of time travel, I think this might be my favourite. It kind of gets the point across that time is not linear (which means that time travel can change things, and events that you think happened might change and not happen), but it’s also so vague. It starts out sounding smart, and technical, but in the end it’s hard to nail down.

A good summary of the show if you think about it.

Keep Smiling!

  1. I love that quote. I think what it does is set up a plausibility for the show’s plot, but whether or not it is an accurate picture of time could be further debated. 🙂
